WE ARE 100 YEARS OLD!!

Guiding in Uganda, was started in 1914 and was officially launched/ registered in March 23rd1922 by the Act of Parliament (The Royal Charter Act) 147 volume 5. UGGA we will be marking our 100 years of existence in Uganda with a number of activities that will aim at commemorating the various initiatives that we have run in our livelihoods over the years. UGGA is aiming at ensuring we involve our partner local governments, schools and communities in continuing to making our world a better place.

Girl Guiding in Uganda started in Kyebambe Girls present day Toro Girls School, under the stewardship of Lady Foster Smith. The Celebrations are year long and will be happening throughout UGGA’s regions and with a number of exciting activities lined up. We have an active membership of 443,473 girl guides across 113 districts. Find out how you and your troop can engage in the year long activities.

The function for the Centenary Launch was held at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds and were officiated by the First Lady of the Republic of Uganda who happens to be our Patron H.E Janet Kataha Museveni.
